At UMF Academy, we believe helping children stay fit and healthy should be a top priority for all parents, schools, gym owners and Martial Art schools regardless of their style.
Many children don’t get the appropriate amount of physical activity and have far too much sedentary time playing games and watching videos. Limiting this sedentary time and increasing their level of physical activity is great for growing minds and it also has the following physical benefits:
• Strengthening bones
• Decreasing blood pressure
• Reducing stress and anxiety
• Increasing self-esteem
• Helping with weight management
We all know our doctors and scientists are concerned about the rise of obesity in children and youth but we may not be aware why. Obesity may lead to the following health problems:
• Heart disease
• High cholesterol
• High blood pressure
• Type 2 diabetes
• Sleep apnoea
• Social discrimination
Childhood obesity is associated with various health-related consequences. Obese children and adolescents may experience immediate health consequences and may be at risk for weight-related health problems in adulthood. Some consequences of childhood and adolescent overweight are psychosocial. Obese children and adolescents are targets of early and systematic social discrimination. The psychological stress of social stigmatisation can cause low self-esteem which, in turn, can hinder academic and social functioning, and persist into adulthood.
UMF – Kickboxing 4 Kids is the ideal program to increase the overall level of activity for your child, and to assist them in positive ways to manage bullying and just to have fun whilst they do it.
